The Centre is developing thanks to the involvement of many people, including academics from the University of Silesia, academics from other universities, and practitioners.
Professor Jolanta Gwioździk is a recognized expert in bibliology, book history, and editorial studies. She has a long-standing academic career at the University of Silesia, serving as a professor in the Institute of Cultural Studies. Her research focuses on the culture of writing, the history of books in female monastic communities, and digital humanities.
She earned her PhD in 2000 from the University of Wrocław, specializing in bibliology, and received her habilitation in 2016 at the University of Silesia with a dissertation on the role of books in monastic culture and the editorial practices of historical sources.
Professor Gwioździk has authored numerous academic publications, including monographs, articles, and catalogs of monastic libraries. Her research output is indexed in ORCID and Google Scholar.
